ABOUT FOUNDERS

Dr. Madhavi Ghanta, a renowned eye doctor, has three decades of experience in eye care. She completed her DNB in ophthalmology from the “Aravind Eye Care System” and pursued her career in eye care, offering specialty services in cataracts, pediatric ophthalmology, and strabismus. Her three-minute cataract surgery was recognized and appreciated worldwide. She trained many ophthalmologists in India and abroad in small incision cataract surgery—the most cost-effective technique with an assured visual outcome—to address the treatable major cause of blindness - the cataract. She volunteered her services to many non-governmental organizations in many developing countries and trained ophthalmologists in cataract surgery. She was the recipient of the Hawaiian Eye Foundation’s International Award in the year 2009. She continues to restore vision to hundreds of people, and the count crossed the 200,000 mark in her career.

Madhu BV Kutumbaka

Has a post-graduation in “Community Eye Health” from the University of London. He had been working in community eye care since 1993. He is a health educator and contributed immensely to increasing awareness on avoidable causes of blindness. He looks after the administration of the hospital.
